An integration of Military, Academic, Ideological, Civil and Profession Training is a vital part of every soldier’s and officer’s professional development in the Army. Below are the different UPDF schools and colleges
NATIONAL DEFENCE COLLEGE – UGANDA (NDC-U)
National Defence College – Uganda (NDC-U) is a National Security and Strategic Studies training and educational institution in Uganda.
SENIOR COMMAND AND STAFF COLLEGE (SCSC)
The Senior Command and Staff College (SCSC) is Uganda's premiere Military training institution which conducts Operational Level training for mid-level military officers of UPDF
JUNIOR COMMAND AND STAFF COLLEGE (JCSC)
Junior Command and Staff College was established in 1989 on the initiative of the Commander In Chief of the UPDF and the President of Uganda HE YK Museveni.
UGANDA MILITARY ACADEMY (UMA)
Uganda Military Academy – Kabamba (UMA-K) is the UPDF Officers’ initial training centre. At UMA, UPDF officers are trained to take on the responsibilities.
NON-COMMISSIONED OFFICER’S ACADEMY (NCOA)
Non Commissioned Officers Academy (NCOA) of Uganda, located in Jinja was shifted from Kabamba, Mubende to give space for Uganda Military Academy.
ARMOURED WARFARE TRAINING SCHOOL (AWTS)
Armoured Warfare Training School (AWTS) is located at Karama, about 40 Km off Mubende â€“ Fort Portal highway, occupying 53 sq miles within Kabamba cantonment.
