Brigadier General Kosia Kuteesa Assumes Office As Nakasongola Cantonment Commander
The newly appointed Nakasongola Cantonment Commander, Brigadier General Kosia Kuteesa, has assumed office, taking over from Colonel David Mugisha at a ceremony held at the Air Force College in Nakasongola Barracks.
The ceremony was witnessed by the Commander of the Motorised Infantry Division, Major General Charles Byanyima, who commended Brig Gen Kutesa for his exemplary service and achievements in Somalia and other previous assignments.
Maj Gen Byanyima urged Brig Gen Kuteesa to promote teamwork, unity of purpose, and ideological awareness across formations and units within the cantonment during his tenure.
He commended the outgoing Cantonment Commander, Col David Mugisha, for his faithful service and encouraged him to remain a good ambassador of the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF) and use his vast experience to mobilise communities towards socio-economic transformation for a better Uganda.
Brig Gen Kuteesa thanked the UPDF leadership for entrusting him and pledged to serve diligently and work closely with all stakeholders to advance the mission and objectives of the cantonment.
In his remarks, Col Mugisha thanked commanders, staff officers, and troops for their cooperation and teamwork, which he said made his work easier during his time in office.
The ceremony was attended by Brig Gen Ali Kizza Kasauli, Director of Anti-Aircraft Defence; Brig Gen Allan Kalanzi, Commandant of the Uganda Air Force College; senior and junior officers; heads of departments; and other invited guests.
